Is it unhealthy to eat cereal everyday?

I love cereal--I eat all kinds of it from Wheaties to Captain Crunch. However, I was wondering whether it was unhealthy to do this everyday, even if it is different types of cereal?

  1. Cereal is fine, but preferably something a bit more nutritious than Captain Crunch or any of those highly processed, sugary cereals.  If you are really worried about the health angle, try some of the healthy brands that are full of fiber and other good things, like Gorilla Crunch.  There are lots to choose from and they taste good too.  Be wary with granolas because they can be loaded with sugar depending on the brand.  I make my own muesli with dried fruits, nuts, seeds, and rolled oats and wheat flakes.  I have it almost everyday.

    However, if you just want the cereal you have, you might try adding something nutritious to it to make it better for you.  All those popular cereals are high in sugar, no fiber, and no nutrition,except for some cheap synthetic vitamins your body can't absorb very well.   Hope that helps.


  2. Actually, I think it depends on the cereal itself or whether or not you eat nothing but cereal. If the cereal were one of those kinds that shouldn't exist because they are filled with sugar, or if you do eat nothing but cereal every day, then that's unhealthy. My suggestion to you is to watch what kinds of cereal you get and, if it's the only thing you ever eat, just try eating different kinds of foods. Like bacon and eggs or something like that.

  3. Cereal is very healthy, depending on what kind of cereal it is. Look for ones that have high amounts of fiber, whole grains and low in sugar. If they aren't sweet enough put some fresh fruit on them and use a low-fat milk.  The whole grains will protect against heart disease, the fiber will fill you up, making you eat less later on in the day and the fruits can provide great vitamins and antioxidants.

    You can eat cereal every day, but some are better for you than others. Look for whole grains, without tons of sugar. Some kids old fashioned favorites now come in a "reduced sugar" version. If you love the sweet stuff, think about getting those instead.

  6. No, as long as, it's cereal that's healthy for you and try adding blueberries with your cereal because that is very healthy.

  8. ive heard that its pointless eating cereal unless you have a small glass of fresh orange juice with it..

    i heard this afew months ago.. i dont know if its true, but i ALWAYS have a drink of orange juice with my cereal now. :)
