why? would you rather live near a toxic waste dump or a nuclear plant?

Sewer plants is just waste... from toilets and garbage disposals. It might be smelly but I'm sure they treat that part too. I wouldn't worry about it.

FYI: I live an hour from 3 mile island.

No its not.  Actually, the water coming out of the plant (effluent) is probably cleaner then the river its going into.

You may smell some raw sewage if the wind is right, but if the plant is working properly, it should smell a little sweet.  That's because they use tiny bugs in the Aerators to break down the p**p water, and this releases a kinda sweet smell.

no, if this were they case it would be deemed unlivable by the EPA. it may smell a little, but there are no health threats to you. My husband worked in one, never harmed him.
