Is it unusual for girls to become boxers?

I think im strong enough to start going to lessons, is their any girls only boing lessons in england, manchester?

Not at all, in the last decade women's boxing has made tremendous strides, before that a lot of gyms/knowledgeable trainers wouldn't even consider it, but not only is great to stay in shape but boxing can be very lucrative for the right woman, hard work, heart and determination.

Nope, i know loads of girls who do boxing.

It's like womems football, no one gives a **** about it cause it's mostly men who watch football.

They don't wanna look like a bunch of ******* cheering on a group of girl playing football or boxing.

If you're thinking of taking up boxing; i think you should go for it =]!

There is a whole sport devoted to womens boxing. It could be considreed unusual since you don't meet women boxers everyday.

I boxed for a long time and loved it. Great exercise and great stress relief. The only problem is that once you start trying to get into competitions, be it amateur or otherwise, it can be hard to find sparring partners or even opponents for real matches.

It's not unusual. Alot of girls with basketball builds find it fun to start boxing.

So do girls who've never done any sports.

it is less common but no it is not unusual. I don't know anything about boxing in England but if you look around I'm sure you will find something. try the phone book and Internet
