  1. It's not uncommon to have another supervisor there, or someone from HR, or even from security if the boss expects possible trouble.


  2. No, but if they think there could be a problem, it may be a wise idea.

  3. Absolutely in today's society--called CYA.  If there is a union, a union rep is there as well.

  4. Yes it is normal for any disciplinary action to have a witness

    You should have one as well..it protects both sides

  5. It is very prudent to do so.  I have had employees become abusive when fired & even had to call the police on a couple of occasions.
