Question:

Is it usual to wait for Purevision Toric trial lenses for over two months?

My trial lenses were ordered in March. According to the distributor, the lenses were supposed to arrive in a month. But they didn't. Since then, the distributor has kept promising that it will be soon, but nothing ever happened. So I'm slowly starting to lose my patience. Thanks for any info.

  1. That is a shame that it is taking so long. I know we had a patient that was in a toric (not the type you mention) and we waited a couple months to get trials before. Sometimes there is a problem at the manufacturer that holds up the order. If you are tired of waiting, ask to be refit in a different brand of contact lens.

  2. Yes, maybe the degree is not available and have to wear longer for the lenses. But PVT is a very good lenses for toric user. I am a user of it. Very good for me

  3. Generally not.  That has happened on occasion when the lenses were on back-order from the factory, but I'm not having any problems getting them for my patients now.

  4. Unless the lenses are an extremely rare custom fitting (which wouldn't be sent on a trial basis because of that), no, that's nowhere near a normal wait.
