how easy is it to buy tix the night of the game outside the park?? and how much cheaper are they usually?? in particular the Detroit tigers.

Most places have ticket broker temp stores set up outside the stadium. Your best best is to go online to a place like fanprice.com or stubhub.com and buy them. A few days before a game ticket brokers want to offload their inventory and will do so at reduced prices. It is not unheard of to get ticket half off. You are probably not going to find that at the physical site.
