  1. Yes it is, if you're talking about setting up camp outside of a designated camping area. It's a large park but pretty regulated. There are campgrounds nearby but as you may already know, they're quite full at this time of year, though high gas prices might mean fewer people than usual going there.

If you're on foot, you might well be able to disappear into the dunes behind the beach, but if you have a car you'll have trouble finding a place to leave it overnight where it won't be noticed and maybe ticketed or towed. The parking lots are all pay parking, with time limits. There are other beaches in the neighbourhood which might be better bets if you want to camp informally. Get yourself a good map.

  2. You cannot camp at Long Beach unless you camp in one of the campgrounds.  At one time you could drive and camp right on the beach but that was changed at least 20 years ago.  There are plenty of government campgrounds so finding a spot shouldn't be a problem.  Just a word of advice, I was out there last week and Tofino was very crowded with tourists from across the world, especially Germany so be prepared for plenty of company.

  3. If you set up camp where ever you want yes, although I have done it before and gotten away with it. There are camp/rv sites around long beach though
