  1. It is not Voodoo, but it is Hoodoo & there is a distinct difference between the two.

Voodoo, is a religion that actually means "The Spirit of God".  Hoodoo is an African Traditional folk  magical practice.  People often get these two confused as "both" being magick.

Hoodoo and Voodoo are both practiced in Louisiana and have many things in common. However, there are differences between the two.

Voodoo is a religion and Hoodoo is an African American system of folk magickal practice that has typically been handed down from generation to generation.

Many Hoodoo practitioners in Louisiana are Roman Catholic and also practice some form Spiritualism or Spiritism. They do not typically invoke the loas (African deities) as in Voodoo, and instead use Catholic Saints that represent the loas. This Catholic shroud is the result of a historical atmosphere wherein the only legal religion permitted in the state of Louisiana from the 1600s to 1812 was Roman Catholicism. There is no conflict between those who practice Voodoo and those who practice Hoodoo in Louisiana and they are perfectly complementary.

Hoodoo practitioners work with both hands - for good and evil. The "root doctors", as they are called in Louisiana, and the "bokors" as they are called in Haiti, are also healers. Some characteristics of Hoodoo magic include candle burning, the use of incense, the use of Psalms from the Bible, and seals and talismans from the 6th and 7th book of Moses.

  2. sounds like classic depression to me, but I'm no doctor.

But for voodoo to work the caster and the victim both have to believe in it. It's not as easy and going to Wal-Mart and buying a voodoo doll and making someones life miserable.

Do you know anyone that practices Voodoo on Sangria?

  3. Sound like a depressions to me

  4. it's not voodoo. Vooddoo is a very specific religion which uses a lot of suggestibility and some herbal/chemical compounds to affect the body and the mind. so you would have to be a believer in it in order to be affected by suggestibility or have been directly poisoned which would have affected you more directly.

the list of negative situations you present are not incredibly rare:

relationship problems, work problems, bad eggs.

in any given day a lot of people all over the world go through many negative experiences. divorces, deaths, bad luck, tragedies...

perhaps your way of thinking about the problems is consistenly negative... where it  makes you think that  you're cursed!

like they say: "when you're a hammer, all you see is nails"

the point being is that if you focus too much on negative things, that's all you'll end up noticing.

if you can't help focusing on negative things, you may perhaps suffer from depression. there are many things that can be done about that, so seek help and you may be able to beat this and have a much healthier/fun/happier life.

if you don't think  you're suffering from depression, then i recommend you do the behaviours that a "lucky" person would have and adopt the positive attitudes that you want to have and eventually they become habits.

count your blessings every day and be dismissive of your problems. when you think about your problems, practice putting them in greater perspective. for example, "my eggs went bad again after only four days. but there's people out there starving. real people, really starving. i'm lucky to have 4 days of good eggs to make tasty omelettes."

it might sound silly, but your outlook changes.

  5. I don't think it has anything to do with Voodoo, unless you want it to. Your mind can make anything real. If you believe you are under a curse, then your mind will make it so.

Try positive thinking and meditation to see if it helps.

  6. Honestly, I do not think this is an issue concerning voodoo or Santeria.  Bad Karma?  Perhaps.  We all go though periods of time when absolutely nothing we do has a good end.  It seems that you are experiencing a terrible bad luck streak.  But take heart, when the victories come, they will be so appreciated.

  7. I don't know ...but I do believe that voodoo is real and I'm not at all sure if you have to believe in it.I 'd think if you believed in it..you would be able to overcome it.

Also..I know that you don't have to "do" drugs to "get" drugged. Do you ever take food or drinks from people at work? Do they offer you things to eat or drink?..even cigarettes?  Are you sure someone isn't breaking your car? That can happen at work in the parking lot...or at home..unless you have it locked up. Have you made anyone angry at you or (especially) jealous? A lot of these things were done to me. I never had any idea...until it was too late.

I don't know if the eggs fit in with this. You need to check the date on the eggs when you buy them..or talk to the store manager. Always get the ones towards the back..they're usually fresher. Maybe you need to change jobs...or "friends".

EDIT..I was told by someone at work that I had Santaria "roots" done on me. I never heard of it before then . I still can't find out what "roots" are.Anyone know?

I didn't get a divorce..wasn't married at the time..but I lost all my friends..even church friends. They thought I was crazy. Well..I thought I was too. Thought I was going to die. It was HORRIBLE!! Almost killed myself with sleeping pills because of it...felt like I was on fire. You need to keep aways from these people if they are doing this to you. Are any of them from Haiti or Louisiana or any place that practices voo doo?

  8. I think there are more probable explanations here than voo-doo. How about your mood swings, maybe depression, maybe a poor diet?

  9. Not voodoo, just everyday life. Perhaps a touch of depression. Your taking all the unrelated bad things in your life and lumping them together as if they are related.

If you believe its a curse, then it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy. That is, because you believe you are cursed, you will act like it, and deliberately s***w things up because of it.

Cars break down all the time. Everyone experiences this from time to time. I dont know why, but it seems problems with cars wait till there is enough of them, then they start showing up one by one. But honestly, you can drive a brand new japanese car off the boat and have a dozen problems with it the next month. Its just the way cars are.

You are blameing a curse for your divorce? I don't think so. Unless your wife simply got up and left without a word and mailed you the divorce papers with no explanation, I think you might have to own up to that one.

The only thing that sounds weird is the eggs, and even that doesnt sound very weird. Did you check the temperature of the fridge? You local supermarket be selling eggs past the sell-by date and changing the cartons. It wouldn't be the first time. Food Lion was caught doing that with meat and got in big trouble.
