I am a 24 yr old Staff Accountant with a B.S. in Finance and International Business from The University of Maryland (graduated 2006) . Im thinking about taking my CPA and I want to get started on the right foot. Having said that, I have not taken Acct 101 and 102 since 2002 when I first graduated HS and want to take them as refresher courses since these were the only accounting classes ive ever taken. My job reimburses for education and I need approval from my department head which is the controller. If you were him, what would you think about my situation. Would you think I were dumb for wanting to retake this? Would you think less of me? I know the basics but just want to brush up. I know the CPA is hard exam, and I dont want to mess up. Thanks.

  1. He would more than likely admire you for wanting to take the classes. Things change and it is better to know how it is done today, plus it would help you in your future studies by just having it all fresh in your mind again.

Dumb? No way, Always better to stay on top of these things.
