  1. It's not pointless to think about your future. It's good to have a goal!

Heck, I'm a senior and I'm not even positive what college I really want to go to. (Which isn't all that good for me... hahaha)

Knowing at a young age what you really want to do can be good for high school. You can gear your classes towards that carreer and also know what activities and community service that college is looking for.

But don't stress to much about college just yet! You ARE young, and you should live your life out to the fullest. Have fun with your friends and enjoy being carefree. :]

  2. Not at all. Some kids don't make up their minds about what they want to be till they are in college. Some people already know what they want to do and were they want to go to school. It's a great motivator. You know what you need to get into the school of your choice and you will work towards it.

    Good luck.

  3. Its a little too soon, but if you plan ahead, you can work towards that goal. If you are wanting to go to school that is hard to get into, you can plan on how to get there. Like, extra activities, and even talk to whomever is in charge of admittance and see what you need to do.

Then, you can study and set yourself up for success.

In all honesty, I would worry about having fun and enjoying your youth, and not worry about this, just yet.

  4. Lol, not at all. I'm 17 and a senior in high school and I started thinking about college way before now (around 13!). I believe it's great to get an early start on this. Just make sure not to overdo it. You have years to prepare and decide what you want to do. Don't let it overwhelm you yet. Figuring out the future can be fun as long as you remember that you don't have to freak out yet.

  5. no actully that's a good thing so you wont have to think about it when you get older. when you get older somebody might ask you what school do you want to go to or what do you want to be and  you will answer it real fast

  6. No it is never too early to start thinking about what you want to do with your life actually you are in a better situation than i am i'm 15 a sophomore in highschool and still don't know what i want to do with my life so yea and it don't sound stupid to be a pro cake designer if that is what you want to do but you might change your mind by the time you get to highschool. bye bye:)

  7. Pointless and stupid?  No.  And anyway, it can be fun to fantasize about the future, right?

However, realistically, you'll probably change your opinions by the time you're older.  But it's a great thing that you're planning ahead.

But even at your young age, there are things you can start doing to prepare:

-First of all, make sure you're reading a whole lot, since that will increase your vocabulary.  Later, you'll be taking SAT tests to help you get into a good college, and knowing big words from constant bookreading.

-Make sure you're keeping your grades up.  Colleges aren't going to be looking at your middle school grades, but there are two benefits to getting awesome grades in middle school:  a) it's good practice for later, and b) if you want to get in to the good high school programs like IB, AP, AICE, or Honors courses, this is your way in.

-Get used to joining clubs, sports, and/or other teams.  These will matter nearly as much as your grades later, and you might figure something you really love and continue doing through high school and even beyond.
