Is it weird to be 16 and not have a MySpace page or Facebook?

It's not that I don't have people to talk to. I just don't like networking sights. I just IM people or whatever. But my friends all think it's freaky...

No, its completely normal, loads of children don't have one.

No, because those websites are for ADULTS, not kids your age, contrary to what your friends think. Unfortunately, social networking sites like Myspace and Facebook have become havens for criminals and cyberpredators, and you are probably better off not having an account, not to mention safer. You are safe, happy, and have found other ways to connect and communicate- and there is nothing wrong with that. In a few years, when you get old enough for college, you can sign up and get a Myspace account if you want one- but until then, why put yourself through the stress, not to mention the expense, of having one??

Not really.

I don't have a My Space, and i'm fine without it. Why should i spend time on My Space when i could actually be OUT with my ACTUAL friends?

I find it a bit pointless.

No, it's not weird to be that age and not have a myspace or facebook. I am 17 years old, and the only reason i have facebook is because i have friends that live in other states and i want to be able to keep in touch with them. Maybe you are just really close with your friends and you would rather just IM with them instead. It is perfectly normal :)

Naw not really I have a facebook-never uses it Myspace-barely uses it and stuff naw it aint weird! Its really quite boring after awhile there is nothing to do with it anyway soo you might as well not get it one!

Not at all! I'm 14 and don't use MySpace or Facebook! I have a Facebook, but I never really use it. I'd much rather hang out with real people face-to-face. :)

No it's not freaky. If you don't want one, then don't make one. Simple as that. When I was 16, Xanga was popular til Myspace took over. I had a xanga and now I have a myspace. but that's just my personal preference.

It's perfectly fine not to have one, I know plenty of people your age who just plain don't want them. For them email and Im is enough, and they'd rather spend time talking and hanging out with their friends in real life rather than keeping in touch online. So it's not like your freaky or anything, in fact your perfectly normal and probably smarter than have the people on those sites anyways. =)
