supports 50 watts per speaker RMS so 100 watts. I want to add a couple of 180 watt RMS speakers rated at 8ohms to the 50 watt RMS 6ohms speakers.

So i guess that would blow if i put it up loud?

  1. it should work

  2. It all depends on how many watts your player can support if you go over the supported wattage you risk blowing your player.

  3. Is this a car CD player?  I don't know of any that are close to what you're describing.

If you're talking about a shelf stereo system, that has a 50-watt-per-channel amplifier and comes with two 6-ohm speakers, then it's probably not a good idea to add additional speakers to that system.  You could install a speaker switch that allows you to choose one pair of speakers or the other, but you shouldn't try to run both at the same time.
