Question:

Is it wise to have a marquee at a wedding in April?

It would not be for the main meal - we have a hall for that. We were just thinking of having a small marquee for the canapes and before-dinner drinks. Have you ever been to a marquee event in the spring and will it be too cold? Any suggestions?

  1. I think it's a nice idea. April can be rainy though so you might want to make sure that you have duck boards to reach the marquee if it's not attached to a building, and have some standby heaters.

  2. Hi there. If your in the UK then I'm guessing that yes it will be cold, and there may possibly 'April showers' and you have to think your friends and family (the female only i hope lol) will be there in posh summer frocks with probably just a little jacket or cardigan over there shoulders. I went to a party in a marquee in march and i was freezing, i would recommend heaters but not too many as it can over heat quickly and maybe some out side heaters for the 'smokers of your group' have them sporadically placed around your marquee as you will find you will have a group of people huddling round your heaters and not enjoying themselves or mingling very well.

Good look with every thing hun x

  3. Depends, if you are in the UK then i'd go for it, you could get married in August and it could pour down, so dont worry about the weather.

  4. It could rain or get hot in April, so it would be wise in my opinion.
