Is it wise to name my business like that?

I want to file a PR/Advertising/Marketing firm and I am confused about names. I wanted to choose Ultra Extra Communication (If I were to choose that option, I'd write the words Ultra Extra only) but I like it when a business names already suggest what it is

Xiao Communication (I like this one because it's unsual and short, but might be a little hard to pronounce), or Pointu Media Group. I speak from French so it's easy for me to say Pointu which means sharp. Do you think those are good names? Which one do you like/hate? and why? I am open to constructive criticism.

  1. Ultra Extra: sounds too much like hype , like "New and Improved".

    Xiao: sounds Chinese. Not a bad thing, but may give the impression you do business in china?

    Pointu: Works well in English.  Sounds like "point to" as in point to success, point to progress...I can see lots of possible images to play with.

Honestly I do not like the first one...it sounds like a new improved detergent.  The second one is ok but I agree it would be difficult to pronounce and that might intimidate some people.  The third one is the best choice of all but I really think the letter "u" is kind of detracting.  I know you like the meaning of "sharp" but "pointmedia" (all one word sounds better).  Sorry to be so blunt.  Good luck.

  3. PR/Ad firms are usually very conservative names or "so and so, and associates" or extremely edgy and funky like TV and film production company names. Go with the market you are pursuing and you'll do best.  As you'll see in the answers here, EVERYONE has an opinion. The only one that really matters is YOURS since it is your business. Choose with conviction and stick to your decision.  (smile)  

  4. My concern with this is that If you are going into marketing you should be able to answer this question by yourself. If you can't then you might have a very difficult time convincing your clients to use your ideas.

  5. I am assuming that Xiao is pronounced something like ZSHAOU...or something like that...I don't know how to spell the pronunciation.

    In my opinion Ultra Extra Communication is too much, it's like a double negative, it doesn't make sense coming off of the tongue. And Xiao sounds good purely from a racist point of view, on the assumption that Xiao is an Asian name and most Americans believe that Asians are better at everything. Pointu is nice if you know what the word means in French, which I didn't. If anything I would call it Ultra Extra Communication but on my business cards and ads I would right UECom or something like that.

  6. ~~I like Ultra Extra Communication because it tells me you have a business advanced in communications.

    Xaio Communications still tells me what it is and to me it's easy to pronounce, but it does not pack the immediate attention Ultra Extra commands, but I still like it and think it's easy, (maybe easier to remember) than Ultra.

    Pointu Media Group sounds like a completely different type of company than the other two, and does not give me a clue what it is-I thing it's way to vague.

    From the three I like Xiao best, but if you want your name to say it all-then choose Ultra.~~
