This is the second major stuff up by Australian Dive Companies in recent times.

The first - an American couple were left out in the ocean by a Queenland diving company and drowned. There is a movie about it.

This latest stuff up which occured a few days ago involved 2 divers one an American the other English who were left behind by the dive boat off the Queensland coast and after 19 hours floating in the open sea somehow against all odds survived and were rescued.

Don't Australian dive companies know how to count or at least keep a roll.

  1. I agree with you but this company knew they had two missing divers the other company didnt do a count.

They should have a proper licencing arrangement as these companies are clearly not on the ball - if they go out diving they need to put trackers on divers - they can and in my opinion not only should they have roll calls and be tightly regulated but they should put trackers on to all divers that dive with commercial companies.

  2. And to top it all off officials are suggesting that the rescued divers should pay part of  the cost for their rescue.

  3. I think in the recent case, the divers were not left or forgot about. I read their story in the papers, and it said that the boat searched for them for hours, as did the helicopter, but due to high waves they could not be seen. i think this one was 100% mistake. The previous case was a disaster due to incompetence.

i don't think twice in a few years is actually a lot compared to how many dive tours set off daily.
