Is it within Yahoo's rights to suspend accounts for no good reason?

Isnt that taking away freedom of speech, my human rights. I dont care if it is private property, nobody is above the law. Unless I am threatening someones life, I dont see any validity in thinking they can run their services this way. What do you think. Corporations should be held responsible for all the illegal and unethical business practices they engage in.

You can't make a law that overrides amendments. I dont know, it just doesnt seem like its legal, coporations break laws all the time without people ever questioning it, and they get away with it because of their wealth. Look at all the hollywood starts who have gotten away with things simply because they have money, same concept.

  1. Yes. Read the terms of service, they can shut you down for any, or no reason. It is their site.

What law is it that you think they are above? Surely not the First Amendment?

You have a very strange view of the world, Republican?

  2. yes..they own the venue..Im on my 4th account...the trolls went back and reported all my questions until I was suspended...i finally figured out what they were doing and took precautions...too late for my first level 6 account though...

  3. You have no freedom of speech rights here - you agreed to sign them away when you opened your account.

Yahhoo owns thew site - they make the rules.

If you don't like it, go play in another sandbox.

    Sorry, but that's the reality.

  4. No, Yahoo is a PRIVATE entity, they can do whatever they want, besides, you agreed to the terms prior to using the service.

  5. Here is my take on it:

I think the thumbs up/down is there to help gauge the question/answer given by an individual. If an question/answer gets x amount of thumbs down then a red flag goes up at the yahoo police headquarters and a little old peter falk character does a quick scan of your last five or 10 questions/answers to get the jest of where you are coming from. To be fair this individual between takes of I love Lucy reruns and leave it to beaver deems it to be verifyable bad question/answer or borderline nutty but plain jane vanilla no need to call out the mounties kind of question/answer.If the question/answer is deemed unsatisfactory then it is bumped up furthur up the chain to be filtered down to the root cause of the said alleged THOUGHT involked by the player(that's you) After they bounce around the question/answer before a Sanhedron of 12 or more semi professional parental consent volunteers, then you either get the proverbial threatening we have removed this question/answer as offensive.... to the old file 13 ,start all over again, and try to be nice in the forum, kind of email.

  6. Well when you are controlled by the ChiComs, what else do you expect.

  7. This is a private entity. They can do whatever you want. When you sign up for Yahoo you agree to their terms of service and that includes the fact that they can cancel your account for any reason. They are not violating your rights because when you checked that little box you were essentially giving them away.

  8. it is not illegal for them to cancel you.  you being here is a privilege not a right.

  9. Yes, it is.

Your freedom of speech means that the government cannot jail you for your speech, not that anyone else has to provide you with a soapbox, or even listen to you.
