Is it worse to drive an SUV, or to live in a MCMANSION 30+ miles from work/town?

heaing and air conditioning a mcmansion, and using gas powered mowers, etc to maintain yards not even used, seems far worse to me than having an SUV. I drive rarely because I live in a reasonably sized house in the city and use a push mower, and walk to stores, church, post office, etc.

If by worse you are talking carbon footprint, based on your driving habits the house is probably a lot more energy consuming and has a higher carbon footprint.

By the way there are sites that will compute your consumption / relative pollution for you & you could easily compare the two... www.carbonfootprint.com is one of them

Driving an SUV isn't "bad" especially if it's fuel-efficient or hybrid.
