As we age, our bodies tend to deteriorate. Do you believe it to be worse when you leave mental strength, or when you loose physical strength?

I think that loosing one's ability to think logically is one of the saddest.

  1. Mental!

  2. I agree, although it's not good to lose physical strength, it's terrible to lose the ability to think as one used to.  My dad has just been diagnosed with

Alzheimer's disease, and it has been a total nightmare.  I wouldn't wish it on my very worst enemy.

  3. Well, our whole existence is based on mental power now; we depend on a young man/woman to start fresh, make friends, gain job experience, and become the best at what they do, eventually leading others to be as good as them.

So, with all persons having full strength, it would do well to move brick, build houses, etc; but would do nothing to move the world forward which mindpower has done for ages.

  4. Of course the loss of brain power is a greater curse than the other. A paralyzed person can be helpful to the society and therefore she/he can live a meaningful life. But the person who loses his ability to think becomes nothing more than a burden.
