  1. It really depends what for. If you want high-def, considering you already have a Blu-Ray player (your PS3) and an HDTV, a Blu-Ray camera might be a practical solution.

However, if quality is really a concern, DVDs like Blu-Ray disks compress what you film, which means loss in quality. If you want optimum quality, go for a MiniDV camera. Same goes for hard drive cameras - loss of quality.

So it all depends if you care about quality, and how much. If you want to have relative high quality that you can pop out of your camera and watch on your TV, go for a Blu-Ray camcorder if you can afford it. If you want even better quality, go for a High Definition MiniDV camera. You can still watch it on your HDTV, either by HDMI (if it is supported by the camera) or by composite cable. Finally, if you just want a cheaper camera and quality is not a concern, there are some very handy DVD and hard drive cameras.
