HDMI is digital, all it needs to transfer is 1 and 0s. As such, cheap cables (as long as they have decent quality) will work just fine, though your experience may differ with certain cables.

Apparently it depends on what your system supports. HDMI 1.3a needs a higher spec than other versions, but i have a couple of cables with no spec listed (about a tenner each) and can see no degradation in sound or picture at all, its all pin sharp.

get a decent one but i will cost up to £100 .

cheap ones will do the job but if will notice small deficiencies
