Don't buy a new anything. There are plenty of them sitting in people's garages with a couple hundred miles on them.

If you are looking for looks and performance buy a GSZR 1000. Trust me!!! We had a yamaha ysf first bike and now we are satisfied with the gszr. it handles so much better and it's a numero uno at our house!!!

I agree with post above me, save a couple thousand and find one some guy scared himself on and is selling it like-new.

Better yet get a Duc

Look they they hold up pretty well, I have never ridden one. There was a recent article about a guy who went all over the USA on one recently - link is below:
