This is my "guesstimate", i will be writing to the bank for an exact figure but want to know if it's worth my while before paying anything for this information. If i win will the bank have to refund all the costs i have incurred and do they pay back the full amount taken in bank charges or just a percentage of it?

My niece followed his advice and got £3,470 back in unlawful charges.

  2. Yes!

I recently received over £2500.00 worth of bank charges from the Halifax which covered a period of 6 years.

In light of recent court cases where the banks have been fighting against the refund of these excessive charges, it would be advisable to contact the Financial Ombudsman or a great site "Martin's Money Tips" <MartinsMoneyTips@moneysavingexpert.com>... I hope you get back all of your hard earned dosh!!!!

  3. No. You cannot get you bank charges now while the test trial is not over. So just forget about it.

  4. claiming bank charges is worth it. to me £400 is alot of money so i would jump on it. but also every claim highlights how unfair the charges are.

at the moment bank charge claims have been put on hold and we are all waiting for the banks to appeal against the recent judgement against them. there is bound to be alot more stalling tactics to come. in the past banks have tended to make an offer and it was down to the customer to decide to take it or not. i doubt if anyone ever got the full amount. but even if they offered half (this would be a low offer) you'd still get £200. after the hold, however, we just don't know how the banks are going to play it. they may be legally required to refund the amount. or maybe they'll weasel out of paying all together.

think positive. it's definitely worth claiming.
