  1. Depends !

Where there is very stiff competition for work in your field it will make a huge difference to your job prospects. Where experience is necessary it may well be advantageous to get vocational training and specialise that way.

Personal choice and practical considerations have to be looked at. If you have the time and money go for the MA. If you need to work immediately find a job where they will offer you training for a special role within the company.

  2. It depends on what you want to do and what opportunities you have.  For example, if you get a lucrative Wall Street job with only a B.S., then getting an M.S. isn't really worth it, is it?  But for a lot of careers, an M.S. is pretty much required to go anywhere (a lot of sciences, for example).  And if you can get a Master's degree with only one extra year, that's definitely better than getting one in two years, which is what is normally required for the courses alone.

  3. Ive just graduated in Law and I only intend to work for a year to bridge the gap between now and going on to study my LLM and judging on how hard it is getting a job with a Bachelors alone, I'm ever more thankful that I am going to go on do my Masters.

    I say DO IT!

    Good luck

  5. That will depend on the field and what job you plan to get, but if you can get a masters in one year, it's probably worth it - a masters in the sciences can take 2-3 years for most people (two years of coursework and one for a thesis).
