  1. I have a Power Mac G5, my mom has a macbook pro, dad same as me, and my sis has a standard notebook from apple, so were an apple family. Im not going to make this a biased conclusion. I have used windows countless times, and my mom has bootcamp so I use windows there as well. Trust me on this, you do NOT want to stick with windows. It is a truelly idiotic system. Apple beats windows in every single way. The internet is faster, everything is completely seamless, easiest to use interface, and it will never get viruses. Most people complain that a lot of software things aren't compatible with a mac. If you're getting a mac nowadays, they all have bootcamp, so you can run windows seamlessly when you need to. I have 5 friends who have both windows and mac in there houses, all the same response immediately afterwords: MAC MAC MAC MAC MAC!!!!!!

so yes i would highly recommend a mac because it is a much better computer, as in performance, ease, and protection. And if you need it, you can run windows anytime you want to. Hope this helps!!!

  2. Yeah, I can't right click. What an inconvencience! Windows has more options than MAC does too by far.

  3. well mac laptops are very good but the regular computers are more for like bussiness work and stuff!

  4. http://www.TheMacUser.org has the Pros and Cons of Mac computers, I suggest going there and reading up.

If you have any questions, you can ask in the forums there.

  5. I don't have a mac myself but i heard that they aren't that bad. My cousin has one and she absolutely loves it. Personally I'm not a fan of Macs.

Overall, if you're the type of person that uses many programs, or needs the computer for work/business, or gaming, i recommend a pc. Overall i recommend a pc because there are so many different configurations of pc that you can choose from when you're buying one. It's also easier to use seeing as it has more options to navigate than a mac does.

If you aren't really into specifications or using the computer for office work or gaming, but more into using programs to create works of art or things of that sort, or you just plain and simply want a computer that will perform the basic functions such as using the internet, storing files, or playing music/movies, then you can get a Mac. It's good for media and basic use. But it takes some getting used to when you first use a Mac.

If you stick with the pc and buy a laptop then use this link to find the perfect laptop for you:

    http://www.cnet.com/Top_10_notebooks_lap...

It's a list of laptops that Cnet recommends based on design and performance.

PC World might help you too:

there really isn't a "best" laptop because it would have to be the best for EVERYTHING which would make it really expensive. If you really want a recommendation for a laptop then i recommend an HP and not a Dell or Alienware because you can buy an HP with the same capabilities as a Dell or Alienware for the same price or lower. First check out Cnet's list of laptops though because you might find something you like.

    I hope this helps.

  6. My sister has a mac. They are very smooth and fast. The internet is well optimized and is quicker than my xp computer. The applications are fun and so is the style especially photobooth. The great thing about macs is that not many viruses or bugs are targeted at Mac, but unfortunately at Windows. So it will be highly unlikely that it will get infected. The down side is that not as many apps are available for mac as windows. If you already bought office for windows, you'll need to buy a mac version. You should check your current software to see if it is compatible with mac. Other than that macs are great. They have less problems and are simple to use. I would get one if it weren't for computer games being incompatible with mac.

  7. Hello there.

Well, it all depends as to what you're doing with it. I'm going to be purchasing a Mac because I am a graphic design student. If you're just using it for basics like email and browsing, you don't necessarily need one. However, Macs are easier for some people. They don't really get viruses so there's a little less care for them. They seem to be more stable. I've had Macs in my family for about two years now and we've never had a problem.

I've been using Windows since I was six or seven. Sure, they are the mainstream computer right now... Macs are slowly growing in popularity, but me personally I prefer Macs. I've been using them for about three years at school and although they take some getting used to, I find them easier to deal with.

If you were to get a Mac, I'd suggest the MacBook, not the MacBook Pro, if you're just doing basics. Why pay more for a computer that's over powered for your needs? Apple offers classes and things to teach you how to adapt to your new operating system. And if need be, you can put Windows on a Mac. It may be a little tricky if you're not good with computers, but someone at the Apple store probably could install it for you. :)

As for PCs, I was a saleswoman for two years. HPs and Dells are pretty well known. I've had both and I've also have had a lot of problems with both. With both companies I've experienced a lot of overheating. I'm not so sure if Emachines makes laptops anymore but Gateway is their mother company, so just take caution when looking at those. Stay far away from Emachines. :D Oh, and cheep Compaqs. (HP's sister company)

One last note about PCs.. They all pretty much have Vista right now and Vista can be a pain for a basic user. My mom has it on her Gateway and the computer has been nothing but a problem since she got it. If possible, get XP installed.

Personally, I don't think a Mac is a bad idea. If you don't need a laptop, look into the iMac or the Mac Mini. The Mac Mini is fairly cheap and it'd be a good first Mac for you. :)

Well, if you have further questions, feel free to contact me. :D

  8. I can go with MAC. I can even installed a Windows on the new Mac Laptop now. I would also prefer laptop because you can carry it anywhere.

    good luck!

  9. I have a MacBook and I absolutely adore it! Many of my friends have them as well. None of us have had problems. They really are great machines, I highly recommend them. They never freeze and have great programs.

  10. I love my MacBook. I've had it for a year now and it's weird not having my computer crash as much as my PC. The reason why I got one is I wanted an easy way to make podcasts and with iLife software and a good webcam built in, the Mac was a no brainer. Furthermore, with Macs now running on Intel processors, you can run Windows XP or Vista with Boot Camp. So, if you need to run some apps that can only run on windows, you can easily switch between OS but only by rebooting the system. I've heard about not right clicking on a Mac, but if you get a laptop (MacBook or Pro), you can enable the option to right click when you have two fingers on the pad when you click. I'd say go for it. I used to use Windows a lot and I still do, but I find myself using my Mac pretty much everyday.

  11. Stay with PC. Though there is reasons for a mac a pc has compatability. for example, more games, more programs, easily uses most programs, can install almost anything, my pc has surf safari, does mac have internet exploer
