  1. What kind of TV is this? There are no 52" TVs with a 'tube' probably a CRT which needs a bulb? Or a DLP set needing the same thing?

  2. A CRT is a picture tube and DOES NOT USE A BULB!

  3. If this TV set is a CRT rear projection type, as that would be the only thing to use a picture tube (three of them, one for each primary color) with that size of a screen, then your best bet is to replace it.

When discarding, find a place that can deal with the proper disposal of your old set.  Don't just throw it out next to the curb for garbage collection.

The cost for parts and service will easily exceed the value of the set.  On top of that, there is a very good possibility that a replacement CRT may not be available anymore, especially since rear projection CRT big screens are no longer in production from most, if not all, manufacturers.

BTW, what has led you to conclude that the picture tube requires replacement?
