Is it worth getting a small HD TV?

Is the quality difference really noticeable on a small HD TV compared to a small non-HD TV? I'm talking about 19"-20", mostly for use with an xbox 360.

  1. YES

  2. yeah, about 4X better.

If you go that small, might as well get a computer monitor so you can use it for a computer too.

  3. The difference is noticeable to most people. It's like the difference between a PC game (which have been HD for the last ten years) and an older console like an Xbox or PS2. Some people can't tell the difference.

You may want to consider just getting a normal computer monitor and connecting it up with a VGA cable. It'll be cheaper (£100ish) than buying an HD TV. But you wouldn't have the TV functionality.

I'm planning on buying a 360 next week and hooking it up to my secondary computer monitor using precisely that method.

  4. Yes it is.  Good day to you.

  5. No.

The human eye cannot tell the difference between HD and SD on screens less than 30".  Anyone who tells you different is lying or simply doesn't understand...

  6. Twisted is right. HD TVs are only noticeably different from around 32" or more and even then you should really be looking at a 37" to get the full benefit of HD. If you are looking at 19"-20" then the old CRT tvs are better. Only buy an LCD or Plasma if you are going to watch HD content, or want to save space in your room as they look good.

    Hope that helps!
