So my parents asked what I wanted for my birthday and I told them that I wanted to go to NZ. Im from the US and I know that when its summer here, it is winter in NZ.

If I do go itll be around July of next year and Ill be going to the Northern part of NZ like around Auckland.

What is there to do during the winter in NZ?

Should I go during December instead?

  1. If you enjoy snow skiing then winter is a great time, however you should goto the South Island, the best ski fields are in Queenstown.

Auckland is just another city, if you wanna see NZ, get out in the country and explore, tour around the island's , dont just stay in one place, expecially Auckland,  that is not NZ by far.

If your into Adventure sports, the southisland is also best, Queenstown is a must, skydiving, bunji jumping, white water rafting, boating, tourists, its all there, and only a short drive to Milford Sound, simply amazing

    Good luck

  2. July is a fine time to go... it'll get down to about 40 degrees in Auckland... colder if you head south. December's better if you want to hit the beach and actually go swimming in the ocean.
