I ask because i MIGHT be going to a boxing gym and muay thai gym but im in a different city and I dont know one here. I do lots and lots of sit ups and crunches and push-ups and jogg.

But is it worth it? I really want to but just 'dont'. I would love to learn how to fight and get in great shape but its the 'city' that gets me. Its a nice city btw not a dangerous one. I just dont know the people here.

  1. Go, meet new people, gain some life experience, learn some new skills.  Enjoy yourself!

I don't know who said it but: "the greatest risk in life is to never take any risks."

  2. Yes since your 15 in the future you might get into fights and quite possibly the other person could be a martial arts practioneer and have better skill then you so you would get beaten to a pulp.

    DO IT!

  3. The only way to meet new people and acquire new shills is to go to new places.  As far as this gym goes, it sounds great, if the instructors are helpful you will gain a great skill, so why not.

You could just join the high school wrestling team, but it sounds like you want more.  If the situation permits it, go for it, meet new people, learn new skills.

  4. i think you should definately go for it.  most places, at least that i've heard of, will let you come in and observe the classes, some might even let you participate in the workouts (not the sparring) to see if you like it there

there's plenty of advantages: you'll meet new people, you'll get in shape, and if push comes to shove, you can handle yourself in tight situation if you never need to.

worst case scenario, you try it out for a month, don't like it, don't go back.  you'll be out some money but at least you can say you tried it.

  5. no worries, i went to a tae kwon do place when i was like 12, like 4 years ago, it was cool, made friends, and its all good if u dont know anyone, youll make friends, people will wanna give pointers and help "shape" you into a good fighter, its alright

  6. Go do it. Boxing is one of the greatest sports of all and it is said that a boxers work out is the most demanding of all. You'll make lots of Friends because you probably won't fight them when you start.

  7. you will meet people the same as you. no better way to increase your confidence in life than to socialise with athletes of an equal mindset.

do it and you wont be sorry.

you will be 40 one day, and you may as well start young and be teh best you can be, instead of regretting that you never did it.

    good luck.

great combo too, muay thai and boxing. shot!
