  1. Not really, unless you are completely electronicly clueless, it's a fairly straight forward procedure. It can be a little time consuming, running wires and connecting everything but it is easy enough.

  2. Best Buy is the biggest joke I know

  3. well - thats up to you and how much you can do yourself or know how about setting it up -  if you dont know how to do it yourself and cant find anyone that does -  that leaves you alone and not able to do it - then yes - just pay and enjoy it -

but for the most part - i would always say NO -  thats a waste of money -  have it delivered - so in case something is wrong or broken etc. - they have to pick it up also to exchange etc. -

all depend what you have also that needs to be set up -

if you got a HTIB - which is fairly very easy and simple - most come with easy instructions - because theres not much to it and i am sure you can do that -  but if you got a new AVR - speakers - etc. -  which requires a little more know how -

and if you dont have anyone or can find a friend who can do it - then really dosnt leave you a choice -  remember you always have the 30 days to return it - but not sure if for some reason you return it in the 30 days - or what ever amount of time they give you - - you may not get the money back for the installation part -  i am not sure about that - but you may want to ask in case you do have them install it -

  4. You will be better able to run the system if you do it yourself. It may be difficult, but the work you put in is worth the effort.

What if you have a problem down the road?? You will need the original installer to know what was put in and where. But do you think that Best Buy will have the same installer in a few years??? probably not!

If you want an installer go to a independent contractor to give you the best results. They be a lot cheaper as well. Make sure to get a licensed, bonded and insured one.

Also some reading material that will help you immensely.

  5. If you're TOTALLY unskilled at connecting up amplifiers and using OPTICAL cables and you can't spend a couple hours reading the instruction book and ENJOYING reading....then I'd say it's worthwhile....

But I'd prefer to do it myself and get it done, rather than wait for an appointment....

  6. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

  7. no.

you should definatley hire some big kids in your neighbor hood and pay them 40 each
