I'm trying to find a good surfboard to buy... I found one pretty cheap that's really nice, but the guy says it got "buckled" on his 2nd session w/it... He says that he got a really nice repair job done on it...

Would it be worth it for me to invest in...?

  1. Depends on price and the quality of the repair job.  If you don't know how to tell ,  leave it .

  2. no way. I wouldn't accept one for free. If you're a beginner, get a bigger board. If you're intermediate, you'll want a board that can perform more to your potential and if you're advanced, you wouldn't be considering this. The guy that buckled the board should be a real man and bust it over his knee rather than try to pass it off as the good board it was built to be.

  3. Not only has the strength been compromized, but it is almost impossible to get the rocker back to where it was. It will ride like cr@p, and probably push water.

  4. dont do it

  5. No. And it probably wasn't a real great board to begin with if he screwed it up in just two sessions. Do you already surf? Get to a real surf shop (not a bathing suit store that sells surfboards). There are plenty of used or consignment boards on the market. If you are desperate enough, there are lots of lower costs boards out there. Just don't waste your money on some sleazy, mass produced popout.

  6. dont buy it......it could have problems...

  7. Never buy a buckled surfboard.  Its strength has been totally compromised.  It will definitely break in the spot that the buckle has occurred regardless of how it was repaired.  Too bad, but it is a fact of life; in a surfboard's life that is.
