  1. Yes! I just bought a Burton Custom X 159W second from Sierra Snowboards and it carries the exact same warranty as the original retail board.

I'm looking at it right now and here are the only differences I see:

-2 small surface scratches on the base that are purely cosmetic

-1 white scuff on the top (it's black) that will buff out

-it has about a one inch long "second" stamp in the ptex at the tip of the base (where it doesn't contact the snow) that will be filled in when I wax it anyways.

The board retails for $650 and I got it for $325 so it was well worth it.

P.S. My board is the exact board shown here:

    http://www.sierrasnowboard.com/second-sn...

under "Fig. 2. Unintentional Lines in the Graphic" and it doesn't even have that problem.

The stamp on my board looks exactly like it does as shown in "Fig. 4. Burton's Second Stamp" and like I said, it's an inch long and barely noticable.

  2. Yikes, Im going to go out on a limb here and say that due to the fact that the deck would be considered a "second" that most likly voids a warantee, id be very carefull about purchasing on of these> Dont get burned man, bc if you get the thing home and its got no warantee, then your just shafted if it breaks or something

  3. I have never ridden a board that was marked a 'second'.  If it is just a problem with the graphic, there should be no difference in the rideability.  Be sure that the board comes with the full manufacturer's warranty, returnabiliy that a regular board would have and the full disclosure of what the defect is.

  4. If you are buying a reputable brand, then getting a second is a safe bet.  If the defect was anything but cosmetic they would not let the item go to stores.  Their rep is too important to risk.  Just make sure it carries the same manufacturer warranty and you are god to go.
