I am an accepted student at General Studies Program NYU.

They have study abroad program at London, Florence, and Paris.

These three sites have the exact same curriculum so, I would not be missing out on anything. If you go to these study abroad in freshman year then you go for a year. But, sophomores go for a semster. I got accepted to London program, and I'm not sure if it is worth it. I want to experience London and all, but I'm scared that I would be missing things out. I feel like freshman year is very important to make friends and join clubs and start strong. If i am in London then I might be missing a lot things out. However, I love traveling and I love to learn different cultures. So, is it worth it to study abroad in FRESHMAN year?

  1. I'd say go for it! you get a semester longer in a foreign country, and a great experience. I'm sure there are plenty of people and clubs to get involved with when you get back

  2. I had the opportunity to go abroad fresh. year and turned it down, and honestly?  I don't regret it a bit.  There are plenty more semesters to spend abroad (summer included!) and I think I would have missed out on some integral part of uni if I'd not gone to the US campus first.  I made lasting friends here, am now familiar with the campus/protocols, etc.  Your first year is all about adjusting, so if you decide to go overseas, once you come back you'll essentially be a "freshman" again as far as experience goes.

You could always study abroad in a later semester!!   Good luck with whatever you choose to do :)
