Is it worth it to go to the China Olympics for about this amount of money?

My class is going to China for the Olympics for 8 day. They are charging us about $1,942. How much does it cost to get a Chinese Visa? They have sightseeing. I feel it's a ripoff. What do you think?

Wow, that's CHEAP!! My school is having a Europe trip, and that cost $4000. If you get to go to the olympics too, then go for it!!

Well, it depends what's included. The usual costs are:

- visa (not sure how much that is since I don't where you're from, but usually it's about 50-100 US$)

- plane ticket (again, no idea where you are, but usually it's about 900-1,100 US$)

- hotel (around 40$ per person during the Games, and this will be considered cheap)

- Olympic tickets (around 10 US$ per ticket, depends what you will see)

- meals (in Beijing, around 4 US$ per meal per person, if you know where to go could be 1-2 US$)

- local transportation

- local guide

It all depends. You haven't given enough information about the trip.
