  1. I think it's a great step. You are blessed to be healthy to join the army and improve your life. If you really like the Army, you will never regret joining it.

  2. It's a great experience. I did it for the college money but found a somewhat fulfilling title and role in life. I'm still in.

  3. I've been in the army for 6 years and I so wish I'd joined the Navy or the Coast Guard.  Seriously, consider these two branches before you decide to go army!  I regret it totally!  I think they're more sophisticated and disciplined.    The Marines is very very tough, a lot of grunt work, hard to get promoted fast.  The Guard is funded by the state so if you ever want college money and the state runs out of funding, you're screwed.  The Air Force is alright.  Good luck!

  4. Don't listen to all these b******s who try to put c**p in your head. No one in our armed forces are Zionist pigs. Nor are you for considering the Army. It is a great choice for everyone. I feel all should have to serve a minimum of 2 years. The fact of the matter is that our military needs smart and strong people like you. true americans join, not for a thirst for blood but for the protection of what they have grown to love. Family, friends and home! So quikly all of us have forgotten about the attacks and people killed on our own soil. but that was our governments fault right? WRONG! that was the terrorists doing. so go and fight man, it's better than sitting around and listening to our own people bad mouth the country they live in.

  5. What do you mean worth it?  The military can be a great stepping stone to a successful career, but the Army is not for everyone.  The jobs in the military can be demanding, there is alot of bureacratic nonsense you have to put up with, and you go where they tell you to go, and you do what they tell you to do.  However, the military will provide you with several benefits you cant get from a civilian life, education benefits, job training, and experience in leadership that will be invaluable when securing civilain employment.  The decision to join should not be taken lightly, its not just something you wake up one morning and decide to do, I knew several guys I served with who did this and they ended up regretting it.  You should also not join simply because you feel you have nowhere else to go, check out college, apprenticeships, things along those lines before you decide what to do with yourself.  Keep in mind also that the Army is a combat branch and if you join up now there is a distinct possibility depending on your MOS you could end up in the sand, so consider all these factors before you sign on the line.  But do I think it was worth it for me?  Yes, but were all different.

  6. The answer to this question totally depends upon you.  Serving your country is a very noble thing to do.  I served my country for 6 years, I loved doing it, and I am very glad that I did it.  I had the opportunity to go to college, but I knew that I would drink my money away (my maturity level was not where it needed to be).  So I joined the Air Force, I learned a lot about responsibility, and I matured as both a person and a soldier.  I then got out and went to college and got a B.S. in Biology in 3 years.  So I would say that the answer to your question depends on you.  If you are responsible enough, and have the money.....I say go to college.  If you feel you are not responsible enough to go to college and finish, go into the military.  If you join the military and serve your full commitment, college for you will be a breeze, as it was for me.  Good luck with your decision.  There are draw backs to both College, and Military just need to weigh the pros vs. Cons of each.

    good luck!

Update:  One more thing that influenced my decision was my long line of Military Family Members.  My Grandfather, My Dad, My Uncles, My brother were all in branches of the Military, so I felt like.........its what needed to be done, and its what should be done......so I joined.

Considered the facts!  So do it, yes its worth it!!

  7. *sighs* Why is it when people hear Army they think of Iraq. Hello people, we're in Afghanistan too.

And I say yes. You get free food and free living quaters (well, it's taken out of you pay check and if your single. you can get onpost housing if your married, but then you don't get your housing money), free education (I'm working on an assosiates with the EARMYU grants. Plus I have at least 60k for collage from my GI bill.) Plus you have some of the best comadreship on earth. No one is trying to make you look bad to get that promotion instead of you. You get free gym membership, discounted activities.

Are there down sides? Yes. Deployments suck, especialy if you are there just as a body. If you end up dual-military (married to an Army girl) it's kinda complicated to get at the same base.

But over all I enjoy it. The Army has made me a better person, and a stronger one as well. I have discovered sides to my personality I have never known untill now. The job stability helps as well. The only way you loose this job is if YOU s***w up, or you get really badly hurt. And in that case, you get disability from the Army. The job is not for everyone, but give it a try. If you don't like it, get out after your first term.I'm proud that I served my country by helping my comrades-in-arms defeat the Taliban (I'e only been to Afghanistan).

  8. As long as you can handle seeing combat within the next 6 months.

You have to be able to handle stress, separation and danger. Otherwise I'd suggest another branch

  9. Depends on what you want to get out of it. You will make a lot of good friends and get money for college. Just do the minimum 3 yrs. and you will be ok.

  10. If you want to join the Army then do it. If you serve your max time like I hope to you still have a life after it, not only do you have a life but you have money, qualification's and job's snap up people that have previous Military experience because they know where the d**n best. Think of it this way, if you do 24 year's like I hope to you will come out at 43, you will have money, qualification's and a huge pension. You will also be fit and healthy and gold dust for job's. If you do join though I advise you join a trade. For instance the RAMC (Royal Army Medical Corp) so you can get a good job back in Civvy life.

If you want someone to take you by the hand and do everything for you then I wouldn't join, but if you want to do something great and push yourself to levels you never even knew you had then I would go for the Military.

  11. Depends what you want to do

  12. If you believe killing innocent Iraqi's instead of the Saudi Arabian terrorists who attacked us is a good thing,  then it's worth it.

Give me a thumbs down if you think everyone with a tan is a terrorist.
