I am currently in the medical field and live in the US(New York,to be exact).I make very decent money but would like to relocate to Jamaica. My boyfriend lives there.Dressel divers offered me a job in public relations.Would it be worth my time, effort and money to pursue a job with them to be near my man? Or should i pursue a medical career down there, keep working here (and saving money),or try to obtain a degree in hotel management here and hopefully gain employment in a resort down there? I want to be with my boyfriend badly, but don't want to mess up my financially rewarding career here altogether! Should i just commute back and forth, while still working here for a little longer? Sorry, but I am in need of some advice.I don't like to make hasty decisions, and would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

  1. Well, moving for a relationship is ALWAYS a gamble.  Now you are thinking of moving to another country, dropping your career, and starting over in a life thats going to be VERY different than you are used to. Hotels pay scraps in Jamaica, so thats not a good job of choice.  Commuting back and forth would be my first choice for you, at least until you decide just how much you and boyfriend want to be with each other.

  3. Hi

Best advice i can give is do your career first and they when you are comfortable think about Jamaica

I will tell you this Jamaica is bad to work in and they do not have the same labour rules as the states .

the pay is rubbish and now things are getting very expensive there .

they can fire you at the drop of a hat as well .

Jobs are never secure there and montego bay is starting to get a bit of a reputation now for the gangs .

Really do think hard and long over this one OK

    Hope this helps
