  1. you should order ahead because there r alot of tourist and it is chaos trying to order them at the last minuet.

  2. It is definitely worth pre-purchasing tickets anywhere. You may have to wait in a fairly long queue anyway, but if you don't pre-purchase you will spend your lovely holiday queuing up to get into things in the full heat!

If you do pre-purchase, try and get to wherever you are going early in the day. The earlier the better, really, because not only is the early morning more comfortable, it is also far less crowded at the various venues.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday! :-)

  3. YES!  You will save hours & hours waiting in line.

For example, in Rome, you NEED a reservation for the Villa Borghese. They will turn you away if you don't have a reservation. They only sell tickets to people with a reservation. (And you have to be there a half hour ahead of your scheduled time just to buy the tickets. They don't fool around!) If its the busy season, it can be tough to get a reservation. (And yes, you WANT to see the Villa Borghese & the gallery.)

In Florence, we called a day ahead and got a reservation to the Uffizi Gallery and saved ourselves a two hour wait. Walked right in at our appointed time.

In the summer, all the sights are crowded, so its best to plan ahead. Its easy to make reservations on the web.

  4. Better do it ahead of time, or at least do research on which ones you want to see. Some close early and/or are closed on odd days and for different reasons.

Lot's of tourists too. Tour groups may go to the head of the line.

Don't just expect to see what you want just cause you're there.

  5. You are only going to be here for four days, so I'd say wait until you get here.  You may find that with everything there is to take in you might not want to spend as much time as you think in Museums.  Now that being said I imagine you will probably what to get to the Sistine Chapel in the vatican Museums, but I still wouldn't pay the heftly asking price by online operators (i.e. $44USD).  As you approach the Museum entrance from Cipro (metro) Station there are tour guides that will approach you and you can jump cue by joining them.  Now for Villa Borghese definitely order in advance.
