1. depends on the game the cards go with.

this one is interesting its an online game and you collect cards.

If you like in detail strategy I would suggest star chamber. Here is the link to download if for free. http://starchamber.station.sony.com/down...

So what kind of game is it? Ever play masters of orion? Its kind of like that but I like it better. The re playability is phenomenal. You get cards you buy and collect. You then make decks of these cards. Any combination you like. There are 10 different alien races each with unique abilities. There are 3 ways to win either by military victory, destiny (gotten by taking planets), or by voting in the star chamber (a central base on the star map). The technology come from your cards in you hand and make the game very unique. There are lots of strategies and people come up with new ones all the time. If it sounds interesting check it out.

Oh and the battles are interesting when you get large fleets of ships with different abilities.

It also dosn't take much bandwidth or computer power to run and you can have it like just another window running on your computer and be listening to music while you play ect.

Here is a video of it on youtube if that helps

  2. you should buy yugioh cards it's fun to play a good way to make frainds and it's easyer to play then pokemon but hardder then MTG and it's easy to get the cards you want at a low price!! ^_^

  3. well it depends if u want to buy yugioh cards

  4. well it depends on if you like the game i personally never collected pokemon cards b/c i didnt like the way the game play went.

but ive collected yugioh and found it to be fun if you can get enough people to play.

but a TCG that id recommend is Magic the gathering.

the rules are easy to learn the card graphics are amazing and theres always tournaments to go to to buy/sell/trade your cards.

anyways to get back to your question ask your friend to make you a deck so you two can play and if you like it then go for it if you dont then tell him you just dont like the game.

  5. Yu-Gi-Oh is really fun. the downside is that cards can sometimes be up to $300 each if you want to buy singles. If you are just playing for fun though, you can buy a starter or structure deck for about $10 and see if u like it before you start buying boosters

  6. Obviously you are the only one who can ultimately answer your own question, as you'll determine if the time and money you spend is worth the fun you gain from playing and collecting. The question you need to really ask is are you just going to play, or are you going to collect as well? If you're a collector primarily, you need to look at how many sets/cards are out, how many of each card you want, if you're going for luck of the draw with packs or buying individual cards from another collector, as all those will factor into cost. If you're going to be playing, (which, in my opinion, is the best use of the cards, as collections go up and down in perceived value, but fun is always worth it,) then you need to look at how seriously you intend to play. If you just want to dabble, and don't mind losing more than winning, it can be very inexpensive to have a friend make a semi-decent deck out of their extra cards, or even use a preconstructed deck. If you want to take the play to tournament level, you'll need to invest in more costly cards, and continually change and upgrade your decks to adapt to the way others play the game (also known as the Metagame). If you want to go completely hardcore with the game, you'll need a "playset", which means as many copies of each card as could legally go into a deck so you can make any or every possible deck with your collection.

As you can see, it can be simple and cheap, or a deep investment of time and money. From the tone I gathered from your question, you're not even sure you want to play casually, since you're aware from Pokemon what an investment it can be. My advice is to have your friend make a few simple decks (like 5 or so) that can be easily learned, and use different cards and tricks or combos, but are all around the same power level. Then you, your friend, and your boyfriend play some games using those decks, selecting the decks you use each time at random to make it interesting and more fair. If you enjoy it, then you might like picking it up as a secondary game. By taking this approach, you risk no money to find out if you like the feel of the game, and you make your friend aware that you're willing to try as long as they're willing to help.

    I hope this helps!
