  1. It all depends what you max output is for your hdtv...if you can only go up to 1080i, i would suggest getting some hd channels from you're local provider, if you are really into electronics and you have the 1080p, you'll wanna get a blu-ray player since they're made for full hd, unlike hd channel broadcasts that only output a max of 1080i.

  2. There really is no point in having a HD tv if you don't have HD channels or  Bluray player..

It is just a really good picture otherwise, not High Definition

  3. Depends on your budget and how long you'll keep the programming we got a free hd ready tv from our neighbors who were going to move into apartments, but you could wait until there are more hd channels for less in say 2010 thats what we did because for that stuff you could pay up to a hundred dollars more.

  4. No

  5. Oh yes it most certainly is.  I suggest DirectTV, less expensive than cable, they don't raise rates as often as cable and they have a nice selection of HD Channels(more than cable) We have had HD for over a year now and there is nothing like watching a movie or sports event in HD

  6. you would also need the hd dish if you still have the old round dish. but yes if you have a nice tv.

  7. I would say yes. And a BIG yes if you are a sports fan. We go through Dish Network and the HD channels only cost you 5 bucks more a month and the picture on them is really, really, great compared to the non-HD channels.

  8. It's worth investing in the HD channels if you have a HD converter either built into your TV or into the cable box.  The picture is not even comparable to regular broadcasting.  This is the point of buying an HD TV.  Most of the HD TV's are wide screen format and HD ready... dude, no question here.
