Is it worth the money to get HD box on a 720i?

i have a 720i samsung hdtv.right now i only have cable tv.but i was thing of an hd box.is it worth it???

  1. Don't buy the box.

    Federal law says that all television has to be in HD by 2010. Because the idiots in the federal government insist on this they are wasting our money giving away HD box paid for by our tax dollars.


  2. I think so ... HD (even 720p) is a BIG improvement on SD. Also consider that most HD TV programming is not really top notch, so a 1080p HDTV is essentially wasted for TV viewing ... you only get a real benefit from Blu-ray or HD DVD or HD games (i.e. true 1080p source material).

  3. where are you located? I have never heard of any broadcast or consumer product that uses 720i as a standard... if you have a 720p tv and you want a better picture then yeah it would be worth the box*edit* although not many channels broadcast in 720p either, I guess it just depends.
