  1. If you think you'll be "giving up" everything in your quest to become the world champion, then no, it isn't worth it to you...the only way you'll even have a shot at breaking into the championship level is if it *is* everything to you & if that's the case, you wouldn't really be giving up anything.

I realize that sounds a little "fortune cookie" like, but it is the reality with championship level athletes. While you might not make it to that level, getting serious about your Judo will improve your skills...and the dedication & focus you put into becoming better in your art will overflow into the rest of your life...so even if a world championship isn't in your future, getting more serious would not be a waste of your time.

  2. ive asked martial arts and the spirit says two things.

first three hours isnt much for world champion 4 hours 7 times or 6 hours 6 times is more average and to be champ if u are not talented might be more like 8 hours 6 days and some rest with proper nuitrition the last day

and second it is up to you for me it would be good but i will be a great fighter someday and you no what i can take you in mma. U  have to look in urself is it worth it u can miss a lot but is it worth it.Only u can ansewer thta but if ur asking there is a good chance it is nnot if i failed it would stiill be worth it and maybe a break every few mounths or so is better

    also my brother said no

id do it htough but yea he says u should not do it he is more normal

  3. Even with that I doubt you'd be world champion. That's just a little less than what I train and it doesn't interfere with my life. I have plenty of time to spend with friends and family and do whatever I want. I train in several martial arts at a time.

  4. Well, this isn't really a question that you should be asking people on answers, seeing as how this is a question about how you should live the rest of your life. This is something that you have to do on your own, you shouldn't be asking other people about how you should live your life. This may or may not help you in your choice, but this is something that you need to think long and hard about. Im sixteen also, and i have had to drop stuff, or make room for stuff  in my life, and it sucks. Between geting my eagle scout, my TKD, my school, and my friends, my job, and my act, sat, and psat tests all coming up this next year in school, it feels like i'm trying to stay afloat in water with a sinking raft, believe me, i know how it feels when you have to drop stuff, or move it around.

In the end, you gotta do whatever makes you happy, and don't let people on here tell you what you should do, it is your life, not theirs. Do what you like, like what you do, and life will be good.

  5. If you become a Judo Champion people will respect you more and maybe want to be like you. You Can always have one day off cause the muscles need to rest and when you rest the muscle will grow

I train the whole day and almost everyday but not Saturday cause on saturday i let the muscle grow

  6. Three [3] hours a day isn't that much.

If it is, don't do it. Plenty of people train a lot more than that. And hold jobs. And have school. And have families. And ......

  7. Well , you will end up having to work eight hours a day anyways. I suppose you must have a lot of money because my family couldn't even afford to have me in any kind of extracurricular activity, I work 10 hours a day and my uncle works 16-17 sometimes. If you "become a champion" which may or may not be. you can make money teaching and competing as well as getting sponsors, basicaly Judo will be your job. You can still hang with your girl and stuff. Aslo you can  better manage your time. 3 hour is not too terrible.  So what do you want for your future. Do you really love Judo, would you rather put your energies into studies and go to college for something else. Besides this you need balance. Whatever you do, you need balance so you need friends as well as bettering yourself. If you have all fun you won't get anywhere. The best alternative is to do someting that you love to better yourslef and this could possibly be Judo for you. I don't know. Maybe it is something you are intelectually interested like Mycology, or Horticulture, or Sports Nutrition, or something like that. Either way if you want to be good you'd better start now. If your girlfriend becomes your wife than you ned to support her, but than again your rich already aren't you? Also to get in top condition you should g here and get the manuals.

    Good  luck.

  8. Quite honestly if you hve to ask it is probably not worth it to you, but nobody else can decide that for you.

  9. I say talk to your gf see what she thinks about it, and if she supports you and its ur dream then go for it, have ur friends support u as well, maybe u can take one or 2 days off each week or something or maybe cut training session in half so u can spend time w/ ur mates and girlfriend.

If they dont agree and you think its worth it the decision is yours.

Or if they dont agree and its not worth it to lose all you have, that dont do it, it all depends on what u want and how ur going to allow it to balance out

  10. Well that's the question, isn't it? And that's one that will vary per individual. Is it worth it to you?
