Yes, probably...but I just read the lyrics of that song and in no part does it mention anyone's age of imply any sort of age difference.

Chars:  I don't think most of these answers have to do with the fact that it's a homosexual situation.  More likely, it's probably because in most areas of the US, it would be illegal, and high schoolers generally aren't considered capable of having an adult relationship.

I'm really surprised by all the other answers. In the UK at least, the age of consent for s*x is 16 - legally, at 16, a girl is classed as emotionally able to have a sexual relationship and to raise a child. Homosexual relationships should be held to the same standard, in fact it doesn't matter as much because pregnancy can't result. I've always dated people much older than myself; when I was 17, I started seeing a 24 year old. It's not illegal, and it's not wrong if the younger person is mentally able to cope with it.
