Question:

Is it wrong for the Packers to break their commitment to Aaron Rodgers

Apparently, Aaron Rodgers has now been railroaded into a position where he must now compete against one of the greatest QB's ever for the starting position on the Packers. When Farve retired, the Packers turned the page, moved on and put Rodgers in the starting QB spot. Are the Packers being fair to Rodgers?

  1. They're not being too fair to Rodgers. But at least they are giving him a chance to compete for the starting position. Maybe all this extra work he put in over the off season will pay off.

But is it far for the Packers and their fans not to put the best players on the field? Everyone wants their team to win.

  2. I find that to be so dirty and wrong they gave this rookie their word. And to now make he compete against Brett God it is just so unfair. And Brett should be ashamed of what he is doing. My feelings have dropped from respect to anger to contempt to almost hate for Brett he is a dirty selfish attention seeking creep, that cares about no one but himself. Not all of the players want Brett back some wanted Rodgers and for the ones that don't want him back. I hope they allowed Brett's face to stay in that turf. Excuse me while I go purge he (Brett) makes me sick

  3. Who the heck is Aaron Rodgers, really.  They don't owe him a darn thing.  Is it fair to the veteran players on the team not to put out the best team possible to try to win a championship?

  4. When Aaron Rodgers gets a SB ring this year im sure he will be happy. we all know that they wont be able to do that without Favre.

  5. He is kinda being screwed.  They told him he was the starter now that Farve retired.  Now they are saying well maybe not.  I hope he leaves when his contract is up.  He deserves a shot to play and has sat on the bench quietly.  He handled it well and deserves better.

  6. Yes and you can bet any free agents they pursue in the next 3 or 4 years will remember how Rodgers was treated. This obviously divides the lockerroom and if anyone thinks having Favre back gives them a better shot at winning a SuperBowl clearly they didnt pay attention to the Manny Ramirez situation in Boston. Favre has put the team in a bad spot with his over inflated ego and screwed them badly during the last draft. They brought in 2 guys to make sure the future is settled and wanted to make sure Rodgers was the guy before he becomes eligible to leave via free agency at the end of the year. Now it looks like a foregone conclusion that Rodgers will bolt so they end up wasting that #1 pick too. Hope Packer fans remember this when the team returns to the bad times, c heer your hero now because he has screwed the long term stability of the franchise. I really hope Rodgers leaves and has a big career somewhere else and Favre tanks this year. It is a selfish and "me" thing to do, he could have told them give me more time, instead he threw them under the bus!  And dont boo him if you are glad he is back after he throws one of those well timed picks at a big moment, you got just what you and his huge ego deserves. Yes....they screwed Rodgers and the team is surely looking crosseyed at management right now, who will they s***w next? Stupid!

  7. Favre is probably still the better quarterback. We'll find out sor sure, since apparently there will be an open competition for the position. The Packers will ultimately benefit, and I think that both players would agree that what is best for the team is best for them. Don't worry about feelings when it comes to professional sports.

  8. I think Aaron is getting a raw deal.  I am sure the top brass at Green Bay put the idea that he was the future of Green bay, to use Favre as a mentor, and he would be given every opportunity to establish his own legacy.  After all the years on the bench, i think it's going to hurt his pride with even the chance of going back into the shadows.  Even if he does win the starting job, the pressure on him is going to be relentess.  He is going to have Brett staring at him from the bench, ready to go anytime.

In defense of the Packers, I think this is what they where desperately trying to avoid.  They where placed in a tough position, and had to pick what they thought was the lesser of two evils.   As a fan it's easier to say, let Aaron have his day, and tell Favre to take a hike to Minnesota.

However as an NFL organization in Wisconsin, which answers to the cheeseheads, how do you send thier coveted legend to their bitter rivals?

    Tough decision.

  9. Yes he is being treated fairly.  Rodgers is unproven and Favre is a legend.  Favre wants to play then he can play...simple as that.  Rodgers would be injured in the first couple of games anyways.

This situation could have been handled better by everyone involved.

    Go Pack Go!!!!!

  10. he looked like c**p at practice and quite frankly the future is with Brohm however the here and now is Brett Favre and as a die hard fan i'm fu@#ing happy!!!!!

    HELLO SUPERBOWL GOOD BYE RODGERS!!!!
