  1. If feminism were simply about equality then it would be good for a man to call himself a feminist - I would. However feminism is not about equality, as proved by prominent feminists:

1/  Saying derogatory things about men e.g. "Men are the enemies of women" – Professor Ann Oakley (1984) in 'Taking It Like a Woman'.

2/ Creating laws that discriminate against men e.g. VAWA http://men.typepad.com/mens_hour/2005/07...

3/ Fighting for benefits for women but not for men e.g. funding for cancer research is twice for women than men

    http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/facts...

Why would any sane man support this?

  2. No!  It is, in fact [cue Barry White music], oh so right.

  3. NO, its perfectly natural

  4. Well if it is then just call me wrong. I dont mind.

I feel my beleifs are solidly founded ,and in the right place.

  5. A feminist is someone that fights for causes where women are beniog treated as 2nd class citezans, which is still happening in many countries. So yes it's certainkly not wrong.

I support no sexism, no racism, no colourist, no ageism.

  6. By no means. It's a h**l of a lot better than being a male chauvinist, I'll say that much.

  7. Yes, there is definitely something wrong about it.

  8. Of course not.

Was it wrong for a white person to be an abolitionist?

  9. I believe that it’s right to support women’s rights, to equality and justice and to fight against any person, company, institution or country, which would withhold or try to remove those rights, even at the cost of my life

I would do no less than I would do against racism, and I WILL ask challenging question of and about my Race

But Feminism is rhetoric rubbish, which is able to achieve nothing, and actually hinders women’s cause, according to the vast majority of all people of the world who are not interested

Just some dark broody idiots hiding in corners, afraid to engage in any challenging meaningful exchange, empty vessels, talking a big, big fight

So no I would not be involved in any of that, no never!

But woman’s rights YES YES YES

    edit:

I think people should go read the story of

Florence Nightingale, and the black nurse Mary Seacole who borrowed money to travel to the UK alone to nurse sick solders in the Crimean war (tell you in truth I am never able to read her story without crying my eyes out)

Two women who have changed world history, by changing the course of medicine and Hospital care influencing billions of people's lives for the better, we OWE them

WHO? through one unselfish act, On 1 December 1955 gave me MY civil rights, because she would not get up off a bus in Tuskegee, Alabama - 'Rosa Lee McCauley Parks' GOD Bless her.

Are you MAD, I will never give up these people NEVER

And surrender to WHAT, some mouthy fools

Every major and important change and gain that has been made on this planet for the past 2000 years goes back to a WOMAN of courage.

Should I stand by now and let us all march backwards because, its all been hijacked by____ whatever,

We all just don’t want un-education at this stage, and that’s what we are getting, i'll fight aganst the hate spread by these people

ALL STRUGGLE IS THE SAME STRUGGLE

  10. Andrea Dworkin's husband, John Stoltenberg, is typical of a married male feminist.  A g*y who rejects gender and hates masculinity.

A partial review of his book "The End Of Manhood":

"Most of Stoltenberg's readers will be feminist women looking for still another work validating their contempt for men.  Like other manifestations of political correctness born of academic feminism, the absolutist denigration of masculinity as a concept is gaining ground."

  11. no.

  12. No i don't think its wrong , but you already knew that when you posted your Q no .....

  13. Wrong? No. Weak? Yes.

  14. No.  Feminists are working towards equality between the sexes, which should be important to men because they are half of the sexes.  Men should want equality and fairness for their mothers, sisters, daughters, and thus all women.

  15. It's not wrong to genuinely desire and work towards equality for both genders.  It *is* IMHO a teensy bit wet, though.

There is a certain type of guy who affects feminism in order to get laid.  They are usually whiny, passive/aggressive manipulators.  Be careful not to become that guy.

  16. Its g*y

  17. Seems to have worked for Alan Alda - go for it.

  18. Well some feminists don't think it's possible for a man to be a feminist. You'll never be able to apologise enough for millions of years of patriarchal oppression. Maybe if you whip yourself every day they'll tolerate you.

  19. It's like a woman being a male right's activist who helps men but doesn't care about women.  Strange but not impossible.

  20. h**l no!!! Ever heard of Hegel's famous master and slave dilemma? The master needs the slave more than the slave needs the master! I guess what I'm saying is that men are just as liberated by feminism as women are.

  21. No, it isn't.
