Is it wrong for a person to be anti-Death Penalty, even to the point of thinking Osama Bin-Laden should only receive "life without parole"?

  1. Life in prison is worse than death i think.

  2. Numerous studies and statistics have shown that the death penalty is more costly than a life term in prison (taking into consideration the lengthy appeals process) and has little or no effect on reducing violent crime.

The death penalty also carries the added risk that another innocent person may be killed even if found guilty in court. Scary thought!

"Life without parole" is not ideal either but much better than humans playing the role of God. Two wrongs don't make a right and don't bring back the victim either.

  3. no

  4. No, it's your opinion. You're a better man than most, it's rare to find someone who is able to forgive others as well as you appear to.

  5. Of course not. An eye for an eye is backwards logic. And besides, Bin Laden would never let himself be captured; he would probably kill himself if it ever came to that.

  6. Yes.   Ask any prison guard....  without the threat of the death penalty, a "life term" inmate has NOTHING TO LOSE and will be as much of an ANIMAL as he wants to be.

ANTI death penalty simply doesn't make sense to rational people.

  7. No, there's nothing wrong with that. Just understand, and respect the fact that most Americans support it.

  8. There are also practical reasons to be against it.  . When you look at the death penalty system in action, you realize that the only purpose it serves is retribution or revenge and that there is a serious and continuing risk of executing innocent people.

129 people on death rows have been released with proof that they were wrongfully convicted. DNA, available in less than 10% of all homicides, can’t guarantee we won’t execute innocent people.

The death penalty doesn't prevent others from committing murder. No reliable study shows the death penalty deters others. Homicide rates are higher in states and regions that have it than in those that don’t.

Life without parole, on the books in 48 states, also prevents  reoffending. It means what it says, and spending 23 of 24 hours a day locked in a tiny cell is not a picnic. Life without parole costs less than the death penalty.

The death penalty is much more expensive than life in prison, mostly because of the upfront costs of legal process which is supposed to prevent executions of innocent people. (upfront=before and during the initial trial)

The death penalty isn't reserved for the worst crimes, but for defendants with the worst lawyers. It doesn't apply to people with money. When is the last time a wealthy person was on death row, let alone executed?

The death penalty doesn't necessarily help families of murder victims. Murder victim family members have testified that the drawn-out death penalty process is painful for them and that life without parole is an appropriate alternative.

Problems with speeding up the process. Over 50 of the innocent people released from death row had already served over a decade. Speed up the process and we will execute innocent people.

  9. You are entitled to your opinion.  I believe the opposite but I respect your difference in opinion.

  10. Of course Osama should be put to death!

Are you retarded? Can you say a$$-burger (asperger)? LMAO.

  11. i think that people should have to live in prison for the rest of their lives and suffer instead of getting killed..cuz what does killing people do?its kind of teaching you that just cuz u do something wrong that its ok to kill them because of it..
