  1. no. u dont have to go to church to show god that u love him. u just have to know u love him for him to know u love him also

  2. Absolutely not, I couldn't tell you the last time I was in a church.

  3. nope it's not wrong at all.

  4. You get out of church what you put into it.   The Holy Spirit is your guide.   Do you seek Him and ask Him to make your worship experience an enriching, lasting one?   Seek Him and He will bring it to pass.

  5. No

I think church is boring too

You don't need church to talk to God

    You can do it anywhere

  6. It's not wrong, maybe you should consider changing churches? God isn't boring, so if church is making it hard to focus on God because the sermons or music is boring, try to find another church that fits your personal worship style.

Try to find a church that has a "Generation X" (I guess now it would be called something else) service. Those tend to be geared towards the younger crowd, which means it's more entertaining and the music is contemporary.

Dubh, you've got it COMPLETELY wrong. God encouraged going to church because He told us to be accountable to each other so as to keep the faith strong (which means having fellowship which equals church.)

And your reference to Matt 6:5 has no bearing because that's in reference to Pharisees who spent more time praying loudly than actually meaning it. It DOES NOT mean that going to church is detrimental.  It means if you're going to church only to be seen, then being seen is the only recognition you will recieve because God doesn't appreciate it.

  7. yep, i love god, my father, but haven't been in a church for years. too much hypocrisy and boredom there. too many rites and rituals. i ain't into all that. i feel the money spent on all that fancy stuff, could have been put to better use. however god allows churches to exist to keep the people captivated. my father set me free, i am able and allowed to make my own decisions in his freedom. i talk to him every day i pick up my bible and pray. but i won't go into a church.

  8. Pretty normal at your age. I am presuming you are a teen.

  9. My guess is you are young.  It's normal.  Try to go to the stuff they have for young people.  If you are over 18, find another church.  They aren't all the same.

  10. Not at all. If your church is so boring why not leave? There are other churches ya know.

  11. we all feel like that sometimes ....yes it's ok.......

  12. You can't help what you think. You just have to find ways to either deal with it or go to another church.

  13. no way! church is not for everybody and everybody doesnt worship in that way.

  14. of course not

  15. Maybe you should try one of those crazy churches where they handle snakes and speak in tongues.  That certainly wouldn't be boring.

  16. Big difference between the first Church and what they call Church today.. YOUR on to something good.

And uhh "MESQUITE" .... A true gathering of believers has the operation of repentance, renewal and deliverance in the Holy Spirit,  moving in the five fold to edify and build the corporate body of Christ Jesus.

In that there isn't a hint of boredom because of the Life,  experience and interaction of and with God are flowing into people.   What is boring is the religious traditions and man made programs meant to replace the faith and faithfulness of a  believer,  with making money and the elevating of the prestige and honors of men in self survival and the seeking for self worth in this world.

The one asking this question,  is not bashing church,  she is pointing OUT that there is something missing while wondering,  "as a grain of wheat",  if she can fall to the ground,  abide alone and die, to bear much fruit.

WHICH the answer for her is "YES" she can. And even BETTER,  discover that there are more (for and in fellowship) than just wheat grains out there. BUT THERE are ACTUAL wheat stalks flowing and moving in the wind of the Holy Spirit in both unity and power and demonstration of the Spirit and kingdom.

ITS clear MESQUITE (at least for me) that you SEEM to not only lack the right discernment to answer this question,  BUT have no honest clue concerning what is MAN and WHAT is God,  or heaven for that matter. Which makes you dangerous to those asking the right questions, feeling with the right discernment,  and seeking the ONLY one who can confirm and answer them by his "Logos" and "Rhema" (written word,  living word.)

The FATHER in and through HIS Son Jesus Christ by his Holy Spirit.

The answer is "YES" and that we are all required to remain faithfull to him when all fail's.... test, seek, pray, fast,  ask and knock..and the door will be opened to you.

    Seriously

  17. I was always bored in church, so I quit going. You know what I discovered? It is just as easy for me to worship God from my couch as it is in a pew, only when I'm home, there aren't a bunch of uppity hypocrites looking down there noses at me.

  18. no it's not wrong

  19. That's why I'm Catholic. Catholic Mass is never boring. We've got three readings from the Bible, plenty of music, and our priests have a sense of humor. There's not any of that "You're all terrible sinners and going to h**l unless you come up here and beg on your hands and knees and confess all your sins out loud RIGHT NOW" c**p. Instead, we we have was "such and such a person had amazing faith" or there might be humor in the pulpit.

Become a Catholic. You'll never be bored again.

  20. I usually find mass boring as well. You just have to keep in mind that it is one big prayer with your entire congregation.

  21. I am very sorry you think heaven will be so boring that you seem to be making plans not to go there.  Heaven will be constant praise to God and His Son, Jesus.

  23. Well, it is not wrong, but in order to keep up your faith, you have to go to church to constantly reaffirm your faith.  The more you do not go to church the more obsolete your faith becomes.  If you don't go to church, you're taking a big gamble on your faith.  Go to another church if it's boring.  Some are more entertaining than others.  I understand what you mean though.  My father is a pastor and he has three services on Sunday which last ALL DAY.  I mean, I couldn't stand it.  The guy gives you so much to absorb that you end up absorbing nothing.  I'm not a Christian now, but when I was, I went to a church that was just for one hour and a half.

  24. You're not alone. I haven't been in a church  except for funerals and marriages in thirty years. My grand father told me decades ago, church is where you want it to be.

  25. Naw, it's normal... It's basically like loving s*x without caring for your wife.

  26. Do you worship God the son and the holy spirit or do you worship the bible?

Idoloters need books and buildings. If you worship God you dont need books or buildings but YOU do need people. How can you do Gods work without people.

If your building isnt working to help the poor and the sick and those on the fringes then it might be a boring place. It might just be an old stone.

If the Holy spirit lives there then it is alive so why dont you change it.

Why dont you listen to the God you love and move those boring people do something more.

Find a mission like sick kids or the enviorment and MOVE people to change the world then the church will be alive and if there just waiting for the world to end then get a differant church there already dead.

  27. By all means, talk to God.

    Church is boring.

    Often the music is deafening.

Find a church where the pastor has something to teach you.

    Also, believers need Christian friends.

  28. Probably.  It most likely means you are more interested in what God can do for you rather than what you can do for God.  I hope you understand this isn't what he had in mind.

  29. Jesus never said that you should go to church, in fact, I would suggest that church attendance comes into the same catagory as

Matthew 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Perhaps  what Jesus said on the subject would be of some help to you.

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Odd isn't it, how it always seems to fall to the atheist, to tell the believer what the bible actually says.

  30. Nope. i don't really like church much myself sometimes. but i just try to go to church when i feel most comfortable doing so. for instance, i don't like going to the 10:30 AM mass because it's so crowded and noisy and the music isn't really much better! so instead i do the 7:00 AM mass or the 5:00 PM saturday mass where it's not so crowded and there's no music. that way i can have some quiet time to myself with God without all the noise and crowd.

    hope this helps! God bless.
