  1. it is probably not a great idea to do that it won't taste very good.. you could turn it into long island  iced tea by adding rum, vodka and gin and  cocacola.  or addd whatever you want until it tastes good and give it  a new name call it something that goes with your theme add koolaid for flavor and call it something fun. it is your party and your drink.!

  2. I would try it in just 1 drink to see how it tastes, before mixing the entire bottle of margarita mix and rum, and wasting all that good booze!

I went to a chain in Florida once, and they made a frozen drink that was margarita (tequila) and daiquiri (rum) swirled together.

  3. Well wrong is a relative term...How, what, and why is all up for all sorts of interpretations. For instance, how wrong can it be to add rum to crappy booze mix? What's wrong with adding more booze to...anything? Especially rum, the world's greatest liquor. But I digress...

    1.  Margarita and carribean theme- That is wrong, margaritas are not carribean.

    2. It's not wrong to buy tequila, as long as you will use it ...in a crappy booze mix for instance, since it seems you buy that type of stuff.

    3. Since it does look as though you will continue to enjoy booze mixes, try a carribean punch mix at your local liquor store. They should have it.

You could also try making your own Carribean Punch mix, it's really easy. Rum, of course. Add some frozen carribean juice mix, like Dole's Fruit Juice mix in whatever flavor combo you desire. You can find that in your frozen juice aisle. Then go to your International aisle, and grab a fruit nectar of your liking, whatever flavor. Mix in a large enough container to hold it all. Chill really well, and enjoy. Just remember not to do anything wrong and if you do, don't blame me....

    Good luck and happy drinking!!!

  4. I think you're over analyzing things. It's like wine. Practically none of us are conversant enough to taste "hints of plum, roses, a slightly sweet aftertaste--like orange".I have a very good friend who owns a high end wine store in my community. He has taught me to let my taste be my guide. Cost is not indicative of either quality or value. Further, I have served Jack Daniels and Coke to people, who after two drinks, can't tell the difference between JD and Four Roses. Try a little rum.Explore.Most drinks, really all mixed drinks, are the result of experience and exploration. Drink responsibly and the enjoy the experience.

  5. The rum will probably help.  It doesn't really matter all that much, since the mixes don't really resemble the drinks they're supposed to be (though they aren't necessarily bad).

In the future though, you'd be better off passing on the mixes and just make your own from scratch:

    2 ounces tequila

    1 1/3 ounce Cointreau

    2/3 ounce lime juice

  6. I would not add rum.  It would ruin the taste, even though those mixes are c**p to begin with.  If you are going to add anything it should be tequila.  I suggest Patron.

  7. Dude there is nothing wrong in making drinks.

look at the long island icetea there are 5 white spirit in there and 1 shot for each of them!

As long as you like the taste make new name then itr's all good!

  8. Yes.. Just add more Tequila.. Rum is Garbage...
