  1. Not at all. It's perfectly normal. The main thing is to make sure you mean what you're saying. I, for example, am very much interested in literature and writing. I'm also interested in other things; for example, in doing gardening, but I'm only slightly interested in that, not very much. See what I mean?

    In addition, though, I don't know if there's such a big difference between I'm very interested, I'm very much interested, I'm most interested, I'm extremely interested. They're all really much the same (very much the same!). In the end, it possibly comes down to a question of register, in other words formality. At the formal end of the scale would be I'm extremely interested, whereas saying I'm very much interested is more informal and casual.
