My Mum told me that there was a website from India where pictures are put up of unidentified dead bodies in the hope that someone might recognise their loved ones and claim their corpses and that it was a disturbing website and I wasn't to go on it. Of course my curiosity got the better of me and I went on. There were pictures of people in three pieces, people naked and people with half their brain out of their skull. Now sorry to be graphic but apart from being terribly disturbed by these pictures,I was truly repulsed that the Indian govenment sought fit to take and then show these pictures on the internet. It was truly unnecessary. The faces of these HUMAN BEINGS would have been equally efficient for recognition and it should be standrard for the faces to be washed and the eyes closed before and pictures were taken. Also almost all of them were young and had commited suicide or had died in violent ways. Is it just me who feels it is undignified to have pictures like this up on the internet and this does not respect human dignity.

  1. Yes it is wrong. In their eyes they obviously see it as the only way, weird I know.

  2. There is a website against this kind of indecency! It's called rotten.com

It claims that violent sites like that one are rotten, and wants to eliminate them from the internet!

  3. The question you ask does not have a simple answer. It is very disturbing to see a person who use to be a living being laying on a steel table in pieces. I agree with you that a picture of the love one would be sufficient for identification.

  4. Death is viewed differently from country to country.I remember being in the Philippines and seeing murder victims being shown on T.V with the knife still in them, very graphic but, what can you do?

  5. Yeah I think that's wrong.

I thought you were refering to this one free website where they show really grotesque pictures of dead people who died of all kinds of causes...

    SOOO gross..

    EDIT:

Raceal let the cat out of the hattt

  6. Yeah I think that's wrong, but then attitudes to death vary from culture to culture. In the West, we're very scared of death, whereas in other cultures they accept it as a part of life.
