  1. Absolutely not!  Many people are on meds that work only because they asked/told the doctor about it. Go for it!  :)

  2. You can but that doesn't mean your doctor will agree. My doctor told me he doesn't prescribe certain approved medications because he thinks other alternatives are better.

  3. No; you should certainly suggest it to him, I'm sure he would love to hear your input. :)

  4. Not really - but if he disagrees, or feels something else is better, don't argue.

Most research sites will give you an accurate but isolated clinical picture. Your doctor can take into account other factors that may make certain medicines more appropriate than others.

You need to trust your doctor - or change doctors.

  5. not at all, you can ask wether the medication would be apropriate for your condition and talk about the benefits and side effects,

    hope this helps!

  6. Not at all, I do it when I can. I think it shows the Dr. you do have some sort of intelligence and you are concerned about your health.

Of course if she/he disagrees or has a better suggestion, then go with that.

  7. No it isn't, they aren't Gods!  They give meds based on the kick backs they get from the companies, not based on what's best for you!  You're smart for researching and asking for what you think will work for you.  You don't just have to follow what they say blindly!
