I don't have glasses so I wear my contacts everyday of the week from when I wake up to when I sleep. Is it bad or are there side effects? If so how bad?

  1. It may be a little extensive.  You should give your eyes some rest from them before you go to sleep each night (an hour or so).  I would mention that you wear them for this long next time you have an eye appointment.  Your doctor may suggest that you wear a lens that breathes better than your current lenses.  You should always have a spare pair of glasses, though, in case you get an eye infection or can't wear contacts for some other reason.  And of course, don't sleep in them.  :)

  2. No, just don't ever sleep in them.

  3. I used to have ones where they were supposed to be 30-day ones, but it would hurt to wear them for over a day, and it was a total pain. I would recommend O2 Optix because you can wear them for 6 nights... sleep in them and all and it's like they aren't even there. Best contacts ever!

  4. In college I was in the same situation, had no glasses, and hated to wear them when I did have them.  I would even sleep in them a lot too.  I just recommend keeping them very clean, and make sure you have the right contacts to wear them a long time.  It has been a while, but I think companies make different types of contacts for different types of usage.

  5. Yes, ur eye health will be affected. The eye will become red and tired easier. As it is lack of oxygen. The eye will suffer.

  6. You can put them in in the morning and keep them in until you take them out at night.

Just don't ever sleep in them, even the ones that say you can sleep in them. My friend did this once and she got a really bad infection and had to wear he glasses for two weeks =/

  7. No there is nothing wrong with wearing your contacts for that length of time. I have the disposable ones and I don't take them out for two weeks and I am fine with them.

  8. Actually, that's not bad, just as long as you take them out at night. There are contact lenses that allow more oxygen to pass through them, like Acuvue Oasys, Focus Night & Day, and Bausch & Lomb Purevision, which would be fine to wear all day. In fact, Focus Night & Day contacts are FDA approved to wear for 30 days straight without removing, although I wouldn't recommend that you do that (its still not very healthy). If you dont already wear one of those kind, you can call your eye doctor and ask to try one of them. A lot of people really like  Oasys best.

  9. Technically you are supposed to give your eyes a rest from your contacts.  I don't do that but then again I have been told that I have red eyes and look like I am hung over or really tired.  I should wear glasses on weekends, but never do.

Also, don't go to sleep in them.  That is very bad for your eyes.
